4 men detained after burglary report in Alabama
Police in Homewood took four men into custody after an alleged burglary on Feb. 18. The incident began at about 12:43 p.m. when police received a report about a burglary that was taking place at a residence on Delcris Drive. According to police, a door at the house appeared to have been forced open. No one was injured during the incident, and there were no reports about any assault charges being filed.
When police officers arrived at the scene of the alleged burglary, they saw two men running away from the area. Two other men were witnessed leaving the area in a white Chevrolet Trail Blazer. All four of the alleged burglars were described as black men.
According to police, the driver of the Trail Blazer refused to pull over and led officers on a chase. Eventually, the vehicle crashed into an electric pole near the intersection of Spaulding/Ishkooda Road and Montevallo Road. Police took the two vehicle occupants into custody after the crash. The two men who were seen leaving the scene on foot were detained by police officers at the intersection of Shannon Road and West Oxmoor Road. The accused men were all held at Homewood City Jail.
A person who has been accused of participating in a assault or burglary after a similar incident might want to seek help from a criminal defense attorney. An attorney may be able to counsel the defendant about the best way to plead to their charges. If the prosecution does not have a strong collection of evidence, an attorney may help the defendant to argue that they were misidentified by police officers.
